Today’s PlayStation Experience was really fun with The Last Of Us 2 Panel hosted by Hanna Hart. The cast of the game along with director and writer Neil Druckman, co-writer Halley Gross were present on stage and discussed different aspects of the game.
The show kicked off with a live singing performance of Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker that you can have a look at below. You may like listening to the song and reading ;-).
Just as the Druckman arrives on stage Hannah strikes him with the first question which is. “Whether Joel is dead or alive?” Of course, this was something the director doesn’t want to talk about so he just says that “Everybody dies at some point” and that in the game “No one is safe. Not even these two”. And by these two he is referring to Joel and Ellie.
While the first The Last Of Us was all about love, The Last Of Us 2 story is all about hate. As we saw in the trailer it was all dark in the forest, the game has a dark environment and a story about hate but Druckman said that there is hope and there are also “lighthearted moments”.
Halley Gross who is co-writer of the story has given a lot of elements to fill up the game with, which Druckman was having some difficulties with. He said that Gross has provided some awesome ideas. Quickly after that, he teased a part of the story saying “After the first day, Halley goes home and talks to her husband, and she’s like, ‘I think I got someone pregnant.’ And you’ll see what that means”. You may not know that Halley Gross has worked on television series Westworld and this is the first time she is working on a video game.
Some More The Last Of Us 2 Story Details.
Giving us a bit more The Last Of Us 2 Story details, Druckman told that the large part of the game will be taking place in Seattle and that Naughty Dog is at about 50 to 60% of the game. He said that at Naughty Dog “we’re doing something we believe in. Some fans of the first game might not like this one and we have to be ok with that and there will be people who haven’t played the first game but are gonna love the second game.” And the best part is that Druckman confirmed that we will be getting a glimpse of the gameplay at E3 2018. Now they are just making me so impatient and I can’t wait for E3 2018.
