CS:GO Dust2 Remake Officially Confirmed.
If you have ever played CS:GO, I bet Dust2 is the map you liked the most and played the most. This iconic map left the active duty pool in February 2017 after being replaced with a new version of Inferno. So what was valve actually thinking when they removed their most liked and played map from the active duty pool? Well, looks like we have our answer. They were working on a Dust2 remake. CS:GO Twitter account tweeted with a new picture of Dust2 that can be seen above. The map will be added in the game in CS:GO’s next beta depot.

It was first leaked by a Reddit user MaxReiger12 months ago. He, while comparing some files found that there were some changes in the files.rad file that could possibly lead to a Dust2 remake. He also wrote about the new map de_Canals at the time when it didn’t exist and after a few months de_Canals was released.
It looks like someone has already got the chance to test out the new Dust2. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev of NaVi(a professional CSGO team) said in Youtube Bootcamp video release that his team got the chance to test out the beta version of Dust2 remake. Also, they said that once the map is added in the game it will be added in the active duty pool and which map it is going to replace is still a question to be answered. The video is in the Russian language so make sure to enable English subtitles if you don’t understand Russian.
