After many leaks, Ubisoft has officially announced the latest addition to their Assassin’s Creed Series called Assassins Creed Odyssey. The leaks gave out most of the details about the game such as the name and settings but still, everyone had been waiting for this moment. For Ubisoft to officially announce the game people had been waiting for.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Gameplay Trailer and Details.
This Assassin’s Creed will be different from all the previous instalments. It lets you play with two different characters, a male and a female. Both having the same background of Spartan family and raised as fighters. At the start of the game, you’ll have to choose either Alexios or Kassandra but the character choice won’t affect the gameplay much:
“The stories are similar,” Dumont said. “You don’t have many changes. The acting is a little different because the actors give it their own sauce. It’s much more a vehicle for how you want to roleplay with these characters.” There are no gameplay-specific differences and even the characters who are available to romance are the same regardless of who you choose. “You do you, man,” narrative director Mel MacCoubrey told me.
Also according to creative director Jonathan Dumont, Assassins Creed Odyssey will be more RPG than ever. He said that they are pushing the franchise into RPG. You’ll be selecting your dialogues that may or may not have consequences. Being set in 431 BC during the Peloponnesian War, this Assassin’s Creed is the ancient of all. The theme of the game is much like Assassins Creed Origins and just like Origins, Odyssey won’t have a minimap. The combat system is yet again modified and will offer more options and elements for stealth combat. Below shown is the gameplay trailer of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey revealed at Ubisoft’s E3 Conference 2018.
The game also features naval combat that has been a part of Assassins Creed series for long. In the game, your main weapon will be a spear instead of a classic signature hidden blade. Both Alexio and Kassandra(depends on who you choose) will wield a spear of Leonides that will be the main weapon throughout the game.
Assassins Creed Odyssey will be released on October 5 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
